Class VIII (tilted hub doubling) shows to the west on the second lowest branch on the left side of the target tree.  

Markers: 

• Obv:  Two short die gouges at the rim below the designer's initials DE.
• Rev:  Die gouge between the "U" and "R" of PLURIBUS; short slanted die scratch below the "L" of PLURIBUS; slanted die scratch extending from the bottom left side of "N" of UNUM; short slanted die scratch inside the upper portion of the "F" of OF.

Class VIII (tilted hub doubling) shows weakly to the south on the lowest branch on the left side of the target tree.  

Markers: 

• Stage A obverse:  None noted.
  
• Stage B obverse:  None noted.

• Stage A reverse:  Beginning of a die crack above the "0" in 1805; beginning of a die crack above and between the dot and the "5" in 1805; beginning of a die crack above the "VE" of FIVE; diagonal die scratch above the "A" of CLARK that is present on all three stages.
  
• Stage B reverse:  Die chip above the dot between the "5" in 1805 and the "F" in FIVE; stronger die crack above the "VE" of FIVE.
• Stage C reverse:  Massive die break above the "5" in 1805 extendng to the "E" of FIVE.

• Rev:  Short die scratch between the "W" and "I" of LEWIS; slanted die scratch from the lower right side of "E" of LEWIS that extends to the lower left of the "W" of LEWIS; die cracks above the "F," "VE," and "CE" of FIVE CENTS.
